I am Laura Zah, Alexander's mom. I am 43 years old, and was born in Romania. I emigrated to the US in 1993 and graduated as a registered nurse from Columbia-Greene Community College, in 1997.
I have been working as a nurse at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, for almost 20 years.
I am currently, a Family Nurse Practitioner, with a doctorate degree from Elms College.
This cruel disease, not only challenges me as a mother, but as a nurse.
Advocating for the ones in need and especially for the ones failed by our system, is my utmost priority as a nurse. People affected by rare disease need people like you and me to advocate and fight for them. We should not give-up on the sick, especially children, before we even start our fight.
I Am a Mom
As a mom, I am devastated and heartbroken !!!!
Words can not describe the anguish of a parent faced with such fate. Parents are supposed to protect their children from suffering and harm.
Seeing your child die before you, is not natural. This goes against every principle of life itself.
